Willie Baronet is an artist, life/business coach, and professor living in Dallas, TX.
Willie graduated with an MFA in Arts & Technology at UTDallas. His work has been featured in several group exhibitions and he has had one solo show called HOME? in November of 2009. For 15 years, Willie owned and managed GroupBaronet, a design and marketing firm in Dallas. Willie's design work has been featured in Communication Arts, Graphis, AIGA Graphic Design Annual, New York ArtDirectors Annual, The One Show, Print Casebooks, Annual Report Trends, TheType Directors Club Annual and Annual Report Design: A HistoricalRetrospective 1510-1990, organized by the Cooper-Hewitt National Museum of Design. His print and broadcast work has received numerous medals from theDallas Advertising League’s Tops Show, the Dallas Society of Visual Communications and the Houston Art Directors Club. He is on the Advisory Board for the DFW AIGA, and is on the board of directors for the Dallas Society of Visual Communications. He has served on the boards of Despair, Inc., MergeMedia, and TITAS. He has spoken to various business marketing and creative organizations over the years, and has judged many competitions including the prestigious Communication Arts Annual. Willie is a 1982 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly USL). He taught 11 semesters of advertising design at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas and at Texas A&M at Commerce, and has served as visiting faculty for the MA Design Program at Syracuse University for 8 years. He is currently teaching design at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. Willie was also the Technical Editor for the first edition of Advertising for Dummies (though reluctant to admit it). In 2006 Willie sold GroupBaronet to long time employee Holly Mason, and the company changed its name to MasonBaronet, and relocated to the historic Landmark Center in Dallas' West End. |
