Vanessa Neil
Bandit Bunny
Raised in a gallery from an early age in Melbourne, Vanessa absorbed the workings and creativity of life as “an artist”. She spent most of her time skateboarding and drawing illustrations -- Aestrix, Tin Tin, Marvel Comics, Pop artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Art Nouveau designs and 1940s pin-up illustrations were at the forefront of her inspiration.
Vanessa debuted her first American exhibition in 2008. The well received show, “The Cubes” sold out and she participated in four more group shows in Dallas including "Sublime and Surreal" at Ro2 Art before returning back to Melbourne in 2010.
Vanessa has reinvented herself by creating a brand called Bandit Bunny -- a combination of Japanese-inspired illustrations (the genre of Kawaii) and Melbourne street art. Vanessa has come full circle and is back to what she loves
doing best -- making comic-style art.
