ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a Fine Artist, Chef, Social Activist, and currently a graduate student. I have worked in a variety of mediums, including oil paint, ink, wood, metal, and other mixed media. Through working with Community fridges around the DFW (Dallas- Ft. Worth) I've become involved in trying to combat hunger in our local communities. My eventual goal is to become a medical professional, working in areas across the world to help underserved people.

ARTIST STATEMENT
As members of a technologically driven society we are constantly sharing and expressing ourselves through the Internet and its various ports and resources. As our interpretations of ourselves and others continually expand, so too does the concept that our arts can touch on multiple levels of humanity and its characterization.
In my portraits, I am interested in conveying form and personality through abstraction. Heavy paint textures, marks, and mixed media all denote facets of the person depicted. I find that each element I include represents the complicated nature of people today. As such, I want to capture their emotional and psychological being as well as their physical selves. |
