She has taught printmaking and artist’s books in several US and Spanish art schools, such as Taller dels Pellaires, Murtra Edicions, El Calotipo, Tarrant County College, Fort Worth, Oil and Cotton among them. She has participated in national and international art shows. Her artwork has been exhibited in PrintTx at the Museum of Printing History, Houston, the IPCNY, the Austin Museum of Modern Art and the Museu Molí de Paper de Capellades.

Artist Statement

Printmaking and drawing are my primary medium. This idea of multiplicity has allowed me to develop ideas by printing an image onto different surfaces, to repeat and to transform it; I am interested in the qualities of materials as a part of the artwork and non- traditional surfaces or special papers are the main foundation for the content. I combine a set of images including text, with the aim of create a narrative to the artwork. As an offshoot of all those materials and printmaking techniques, it led me to create books, animation, installations and performances, as a way to put together different worlds: visual arts, craft and the word. I recently included textile art in my body of work, such as embroidery and weaving. Embroidery works as a drawing tool that puts together different printed images. As an activity I practiced when I was younger, it has been a way to connect with my hobbies from the past: the pace, the patience, the idea of creating an object. Weaving has a conceptual meaning of creating the surface by intertwining weave and warp and a meditative attitude that it is interesting. Whether printmaking and materials are the medium, poetry is the language to create a narrative. Poetry has a surrealistic quality that allows me to play with words and images. This association between words in different languages and images are the beginning of some visual ideas, mainly biographic and natural history related. The idea of interrelation among all my works is to transform my personal experiences in a universal language that can be understandable for everybody. I feel my body of art is not finished because the process of life in itself is an open field in constant change.
