Artist Statement
The people that interest me most are the odd and quirky people that do unexpected things. These people are not famous and they haven’t had any significant impact on the world. Often their actions go unnoticed.
My work is a documentation of quirky characters in odd events that happen in unremarkable settings. Usually I hear about these in a conversation and I get a very clear picture in my head of the incident. I become driven to make this vision a tangible piece. I usually depict these anecdotes with photography which gives it a “real” quality. Since these people‘s memories only survive in conversations, I must recreate the events before I shoot it. Recently, I have been interpreting these anecdotes as a collection of similar stories using 3D and 4D installations. I hope to engage the viewer to tell their own stories. And the result is that my images and installations
