Artist Biography
Sara Lovas is an artist and sculptor who lives and works in Dallas, TX.
By placing small human figures in out of scale environments, she
depicts struggle, joy, risk, adventure, sadness, security, love and loss.
She works in a variety of media including cast resin, wood, steel and
bronze. Her work has been shown in galleries in Brooklyn, Dallas, Fort
Worth and New York, and she is on the emerging public artist lists in
both Dallas and Fort Worth.
Artist Statement
My work emerges from personal experience and significant moments in
life. Small human forms are juxtaposed with out-of-scale environments
to communicate personal, as well as universal, experiences, emotions or
situations.
My “torn metal” work conveys the passage of time and the nature of
journeys. I work to call attention to the contrasting textures and colors of
materials and to highlight the inside versus outside of an object
