In Texas: Naturally Surreal, legendary street artist Ron English humorously provides his interpretation of what is the true essence of Texas. At the intersection of street and fine art, English’s work juxtaposes stunningly detailed and naturalistic representations with surreal scenes that provide social commentary. Aptly referred to as ‘Popaganda,’ English's art creates a dialogue by including visual metaphors that encourage the viewer to reconsider and readdress what they believe. English has crafted a universe within his artworks that is populated by identifiable characters, each with their own unique storyline and background. Included in this show is one of his most recognizable characters, Texas Temper Tot who also appears on a mural in Deep Ellum.

Artist Ron English returns to Dallas to showcase his take on the “naturally surreal” aspects of this state. The artist’s most famous and familiar character, Temper Tot, features in an exclusive hand painted monoprint edition, a call-back to his stunning public mural in the heart of Deep Ellum.
