Robin Myrick

BIO
Robin Myrick is a conceptual and experimental artist working in photography, video, writing, and hybrid forms.
Her work explores the transitory nature of the ephemeral or mediated moment, as expressed through television and film, portraiture and the body, and the rhetoric of identity, politics, consumerism, and disaster. Her art practice often attempt s to break down the technical perfection and precise communication of
images constructed for public consumption, and consider how media-based forms of dialogue express or convey meaning (between the talking heads on screen or between the visual and the viewer). Myrick holds an MFA in Writing and Critical Studies from California Institute of the Arts, and is currently completing her doctorate in Aesthetic Studies at UT Dallas.
