James Isaac Zamora is a contemporary realist painter.

“When I have found the object I wish to paint, I use the technical, mathematical exactness of the camera to capture the nuances my human eyes have missed.  The camera lens captures and provides information that only exists in photography.  By incorporating the anomalies of complicated shapes and unexpected color created by the lens, my paintings give a surprising factor to me, and hopefully, the viewer.  At the beginning of the painting process I’m aware of what the image looks like, but I do not know how the image will be created or even look like through the use of paint.  Though my imagery maybe ordinary, at first glance, even unnoticed and at best a throwaway object, it is the essence of reflection, lights and darks, and unexpected color, that makes me want to paint the extraordinarily ordinary.”
