Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence
Fruit Efficiency
August 26 - September 23, 2017
Ro2 Art |
Ro2 Art is thrilled to present ‘FRUIT EFFICIENCY,’ a collaborative exhibition by artists Gary Farrelly and Chris Dreier, co-founders of The Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (OJAI). The show will run from August 26 through September 23, 2017. There will be an opening reception held Saturday, August 26, from 7-10 p.m. at Ro2 Art, located at 1501 S. Ervay Street in Dallas’ Cedars neighborhood.
In their upcoming Dallas exhibition, Farrelly and Dreier comment on the redundancies of bureaucratic processes through the ongoing exchange of documentation within their fabricated corporation. Their joint ability to record their personal obsessions through the methodical organization of superfluous surveys and polls reflects their tongue-in-cheek approach. Both members of OJAI take their positions very seriously, devoting much of their time to drafting documents, filing papers, and mailing correspondence back and forth between Brussels and Berlin. FRUIT EFFICIENCY is the third exhibition of OJAI’s farcical content, presented as the company’s annual report. |

ABOUT
OJAI |
The Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (OJAI) is a performance and mail art based collaboration involving Berlin artist Chris Dreier and Brussels based Gary Farrelly. In their work, the duo engages in documentation and idiosyncratic research in a variety of fields including economics, architecture and bureaucracy. The research is manifested as postal correspondence, surveys, photo-documented field trips and maps. OJAI sound performances are inspired by industry, conspiracy theories and major disasters.
Exhibitions of work by OJAI have taken place at GRÖLLE pass:projects in Wuppertal and Galerie Laura Mars in Berlin. Performances and concerts have taken place at various venues in Germany and Belgium including LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. Fruit Efficiency is the third ever exhibition of OJAI material (the first to take place outside Germany). The exhibition will include mail art, a performance and the publication of the organization’s second Annual Report. The artists will also conduct a survey and gather information about Dallas for use in an exhibition in Ireland next year. |
