Montoya Williams
Montoya Williams was born and raised in Dallas, Tx. Like all creatives she took to art early and enthusiastically. After attending Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she ended up falling in love with photography. Montoya became an alumna of Howard University im Washington, D.C. where she majored in photography and anthropology. Upon graduation she moved to Atlanta, GA where she lived as a photographer for 8 years before returning to Dallas to pursue a career in fine art. Montoya's digital collage work is highly influenced by afro futurism and africanisms among the diaspora as well as reconstructing the narrative of black womanhood.
