Art is proud to introduce Kevin Lewis Fougerousse and his work to
North Texas in his first Dallas solo show. The images in his
neo-expressionist paintings draw from years of working as a high
fashion model in Los Angeles, along with it's city streets and desert
mountain surroundings.
For Memoirs, Kevin Lewis Fougerousse passionately composes his paintings by giving the viewer an unfiltered look into the rawest places of his psyche. His paintings, replete with bold colors, wild lines, and narrative imagery allow for a peak through a cracked door for a glimpse of an unorthodox perception of the world around him.

in this world i see the art of God and a beauty birthed in decay and it lifts me to a mezzanine to create a harmony of life and death, chaos and tranquility, love and loss delineating the nostalgia of time and the fervor that lies within my faith.
my work for me is a vent, an escape, my vacuum in this world at war. it's a therapy of pulling stingers from my side, a sweet salve to my soul where i find silence and recovery from all my paths, the ones of wisdom and to my plights of dark folly. it's the depiction of my deserts, my highs and lows... the ones reached i thought i'd never go. and finally i find my meridian when i can sit back and see that my work demands not one more drop of paint nor one more single brush stroke. it's then i know... it is finished.
and so i wish my work to forge an impression on hearts and minds at the depth from which it came while still on this side of my grave and then beyond. that one can pilfer through the sediments of my search and find light, a spark, a fuel for flames... that one can take from it hope and grace. it simply comes down to this, if it can not be felt then it is worth nothing at all.
