ABOUT THE ARTIST
I have been a visual artist for 20 years as a hobby. Over the last 5 years, I’ve been starting to put it out into the World and just recently dropped off 4 pieces for my first gallery show, CHAOS! 9 with RO2!

ARTIST STATEMENT
I began drip-painting, a la Jackson Pollock, in the early 00s. Pollock’s thoughts on the abstraction of form and the rhythm and dance in putting down the paint resonated with me. I have contemplated the ideas of matter, nature, Order, and Chaos for as long as I can remember. In the 00s and 10s, I also began experimenting with recycled and repurposed materials as canvas (plastic, paper, styrofoam, metal). I continued to develop my artistic mind around Chaos and Order; color theory and plasticity; movement of energy and mass in the atomic, the molecular, the natural environment, and Society; and morphing the idea of canvas and movement. There is a playfulness in the color, movement, and detail of my pieces that I find very soothing and meditative. The swirls of color represent the chaotic beauty of that swirl of energy that is all around and within all of us and helps me ponder my place (and yours) within it. I've been fine tuning my ideation and execution, becoming a novice woodworker and engineer. I've continued collecting and repurposing 'canvas', now mainly glass, mirror, ceramic tile, marble tile, brown board, wood, and of course, styrofoam. The material really drives the design and how to hang it, especially if it is a heavy one. Four pieces, INTRAVEINING, PUZZLE APEACE, INTERWEAVING, and the WARM/COOL duet, required a lot of process and thought (and a few minor injuries) on how to hang them on a wall. That process, and love of color, is really what drives me to create!
