Dwayne Carter

BIO
dcarter@flash.net
Since the 1980s, Dwayne Carter has been making figurative paintings about constructed narratives. About fifteen years ago he expanded that practice to include fotonovelas. The End of Madness is the latest release of this self-published series, depicting the psychological fallout of characters in difficult and often transgressive settings. In addition to paintings and copies of his zine, the artist will present a new direction in his work: small scale wood and clay relief carvings. He has had solo exhibitions at the Kessler Theater, Richland College, and Plush Gallery in Dallas, the Ida Greene Gallery in Sherman, and Heights Theater in Houston, and has also shown multimedia work in the Aurora New Media Exhibition and Dallas Video Festival.
