Embroidery, acrylic on felt
David Willburn's embroidered fabric drawings are recordings of domestic ritual and fragmented memories. They document the often mundane moments of personal environments and elevate them to become sentimental narratives that can be both aching and wonderful.
Born in Fort Stockton, Texas, David Willburn received his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. His work has been included in exhibitions throughout the United States including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon and 500X Gallery in Dallas.
