My work addresses the mysteries of light, form, and time that make up both exterior and interior space. Drawing from autobiography, visceral imagery, and the body, I explore artistically and psychologically the process by which we enter and embody liminal space. Throughout my art, the 'intact entity' is shattered into broken pieces revealing the underpinnings of perception and exposing the spaces hidden below the surface of the image. It is in this realm where struggle between form and formlessness ensues, the unexpected reveals itself and meaning emerges.
For me, the expression of art is exquisitely self-conscious. I am excited by conventions of depicting pictorial space and other formal concerns specific to the history of painting, and how these concerns relate to photography and video. Taking photos is about seeing and examining the world through the lens of the camera. Through this lens I look to deepen my own humanity, see new ways to grapple with the mysteries of life and move closer to the expression of the poetics of the human heart that constantly changes and yet always remains the same.

I am an interdisciplinary artist that explores the existential questions of life through the process of somatic expression and embodied art. Through the gateway of the awakened senses I enter my work to follow where the experience takes me and from there share the unfolding journey of my psychological and spiritual self discovery in a form of movement. I dive into the palpable experience and rummage about the multilayered range of my being gliding between the turmoils of life/death, growth/decay and attachment/detachment. I have extensive training in contact improvisation which provides a platform for deeper exploration of awareness in relationship to another in a non-verbal space bringing the invisible inner worlds and their interactions to the surface to be seen thus artistically expressing human nature through embodied movement. I have worked with the human body in various forms, including turning the body into a living canvas for theater and performance art, working as a body paint and black tape artist.
As a performer my movement vocabulary is informed by my dance and integrated conscious movement practices including training in contact improvisation, contemporary dance, instant composition, dance choreography, butoh, yoga, martial arts and body-mind centering. In addition I have a B.S. in Biopsychology (2007) form the University of California Santa Barbara and an MBA in Project Management (2011) form Keller Graduate School of Management. I travel to collaborate, perform, teach and support organizations of movement festivals internationally.
