Carrie has shown work in numerous national and international juried exhibitions, receiving several awards. Her work is in various private and public collections including the Racine Art Museum in Racine, WI and the Museum of Art and Design in New York, NY.
Artist Statement
At its core, my work is about “life”; Defined as: a principle or force that is considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings. My work is not just about human life but all life. I am especially interested in the delicate nature of life, its brevity and fragility. I hope to capture some of the delicacy and impermanence of life within my work; I feel that (because of their fragile forms) flowers and insects express this well.
