Bruce SchiefelbeinI was born and raised in Southern California and spent my childhood illuminated by the glow of a television set, in the company of Soupy Sales, Max Fleischer and Tex Avery. In 1970 my family relocated to Dallas and soon thereafter I headed out to the University of Montana to get away from the Texas summer. One winter later I began a multi-year thaw at Arizona State University where, in 1976 I received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. I worked in a lab at the University of Southern California Medical School where my boss was an enthusiastic painter who encouraged me to find several figure study groups populated by old Disney animators. My art career began soon thereafter.
Artist’s Statement: I spend a great deal of time painting and a good deal more wondering about the results. |
