Huey Dynamite
Artist Statement
Huey Dynamite is a moniker I created to signify the “explosive” power of color in my artwork. It’s also a combination from the names Huey Freeman and Black Dynamite from the TV shows The Boondocks and Black Dynamite, shows I loved while growing up. I am a fine-arts painter based in Dallas, using acrylic paint as my main medium to make my subjects as rich in personality as they are in color. Influences for my work include the incredible talents of Kehinde Wiley and Kerry James Marshall. With my designs coming in various color combinations and vibrant schemes, I hope to invoke something amazing within everyone who views my work.
