Barbara HajekStatement
Structure and form meet chaos in an explosion of humorous commentary on the stateof urban living. Man vs Nature explored and narrated in visuals ranging from junkculture, terraforming, performance sculptural installations, and anything else that strikesme as visually stimulating. Man-made objects are cooped by nature in order to revitalizeand stimulate the environment. Man’s disregard of nature and what nature may feelabout that disregard is explored. Most of the supplies is salvaged materials that havebeen collected over the years and are constantly being adjusted and altered in order to allow art installations to flow into my life at every turn. I am the English garden in the French neighborhood. Natural elements are encouraged to infiltrate my work and provide an ever changing piece of art in the garden and gallery. Broken does not have to be discarded. Reassembled does not have to be perfect. Beauty can come from disaster. It all just depends on our approach to a problem and how we choose to proceed with our lives. |
