about the artist
My work explores the negative effects that human development has on the environment. The research I have done focuses on human migrations from global ecological disasters that stem from climate change and how it disproportionately affects the poorest communities of the world. I use my artwork as a way to highlight the connections between people, their communities, and nature. When addressing the complexity of this issue, drawing and painting become key. I use color and the sketched line as mechanisms for underlining the ramifications of our ecological footprint and the transitory nature of human life. Textiles underscore the risk of losing culture in the process.
