Ambrea Dean

Ambrea Dean’s work focuses on the motions of unapologetic vulnerability. Primarily a photographer, Dean uses her camera to document the objects that connect her to other people and memories. She capsules moments throughout her life by visually representing them, using vulnerability as an art medium and a way to connect herself to the people around her. Through this type of realistic documentation, she creates emotional voyeurism. Viewing her artwork is like looking inside of a journal discovered on a park bench.

Dress Project Statement

Dresses deals with the memories that connect people to everyday objects. A dress can represent anything from a promising interview to a first date. The memories can stay connected to the fabric like a stain. A short statement accompanies each dress which was the first thought that popped into my head
when photographing the individual dresses.
