FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

(Dallas, TX) Ro2 Art is pleased to welcome artist Aimee Cardoso for her solo exhibition, envelop, featuring the artist's most recent paintings. In her work, Aimee skillfully depicts detail views of fabric, blankets, and upholstery. Drawing from the long tradition of still life paintings, Aimee's works convey a sense of intimacy in the context of a domestic environment. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, February 25 from 6 to 8 pm, with the show running through March 29, 2016. The artist will be in attendance at the opening reception. Envelop will be on display at Ro2 Art at The Magnolia, located at 3699 McKinney Ave. Ste. 100 in The West Village neighborhood of Dallas.

“Employing traditional techniques in the genre of still life painting, my paintings conjure notions of intimacy on    both personal and universal levels. The images I create are poetically rendered yet narratively vague, linking personal fragments of my memories to the universal act of finding sanctuary within domestic spaces. Each still life is covered in a way to suggest a form underneath, where I find aesthetic pleasure in the way fabric weaves in and out of itself. The fabrics selected each hold specific memories and a familiarity which bring comfort into the creation process.”
