Adam Palmer
Sister's Sticker Collection
June 14 - July 18, 2017
Ro2 Art at The Magnolia Theatre |
Ro2 Art is pleased to present artist Adam Palmer for his solo exhibition, Sister’s Sticker Collection, a wild, energetic, and color saturated sugar rush that harkens back to a childhood filled with colorful cartoons, flashy music videos, and zany movies. Adam’s first experience with color and composition came from watching cartoons on Nickelodeon, music videos on MTV, and movies on HBO. Palmer’s vibrant abstract pieces attempt to capture the untamed spirit of his childhood influences.
There will be an opening reception on Thursday, June 15th from 6 to 8 pm, with the show running from June 14th to July 18th. Sister’s Sticker Collection will be on view at The Magnolia Theatre, located at 3699 McKinney Ave. Ste. 100 / West Village. |

ARTIST STATEMENT

In my latest drawings and prints, I try to convey all of my childhood influences in an abstract form. I grew up in a small and remote west Texas town. Nickelodeon, MTV and HBO provided an escape from my everyday life. The shapes and colors of Saturday Morning Cartoon were my first introductions to Color and Composition. The interesting fashion and music on MTV videos and HBO Movies provided a new perspective about other places and cultures. I try to capture the same fun and energy in my work that I felt as a child.
